The following officers have been elected to serve for the 2008-2010 term:

President-Heather Little

Heather earned her B.S. from Oklahoma State University in 2000 and her M.S. from Texas Woman's University in 2002. She has worked for six years at the Collin County Special Education Cooperative. She has been with Mckinney ISD for 2 years. On the side she dabbles in PRN to keep up her skills in adult care. She has a 3 year old son, Jace who keeps her quite busy.

Vice President- Jodi Southard

Jodi earned her B.A. in English from Texas Woman’s University in 2002. She taught at Howe ISD and then returned back to TWU where she received her B.S. in Communication Sciences in 2006. Jodi did some long term substituting jobs at Van Alstyne ISD and took a SLP-A job at Denison while finishing her degree. McKinney ISD is where you will find her now working part-time to be with her active 1 year old son Cooper and spending time with her charming husband Todd.

Secretary - Kris Dain

Kris received her BA in English and history from Austin College in 1975. She worked as a paralegal at Texas Instruments for 8 years, then taught American history in Richardson ISD for 15 years. She received her MS in speech pathology from TWU in 1999. She is beginning her 9th year as an SLP at Lake Highlands Jr. High. She finds the junior high kids to be fun and challenging. Kris especially enjoys working with several students with Asperger's Syndrome.

 Treasurer - Vickie Russell

Vickie obtained her B.S. in Communication Disorders from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 1998 and her M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology in 2000. She has a total of 10 year experience working with students with various communication disorders. She has enjoyed working with those students from ages 3 to 20 and finds much satisfaction seeing her students achieve better communication. She is currently in her sixth year with McKinney ISD where she assists elementary and high school students.  

Membership Chair-Melissa Becker

Melissa received her B.A. from the University of North Texas in 2002 and her M.A. from the University of North Texas in 2004. She is in her sixth year as a school SLP and her fifth year in Allen ISD working at Boon Elementary. She enjoys working with childhood language and children with multiple disabilities.

Historian-Julie Sluder

Julie received her B.S at Ohio University in 1992 and her M.A. from University of Cincinatti in 1994. She moved back to her home town of Plano, Texas and worked with middle and high school students for PISD for 6 years. Since she started her family, she has worked part time for Intrepid Healthcare Services for seven years. She has three sons Jacob, Justin and Noah and one beautiful baby girl, Bridget.
